If you have ever stood in front of a shelf of Vuse pods wondering whether the pack in your hand will actually fit the device in your pocket, you are not alone. Vuse has run four overlapping pod formats in the UK, and the packaging does not always make the difference obvious. This page sorts it out.
The short version: Vuse sells two pod families in the UK. The 1.9 ml ePod / Pro pods fit the ePod, ePod 2 and Vuse Pro. The 2 ml Extra Intense pods fit the Vuse Pro and the Go Reload 1000. Vuse Ultra Smart Pods contain a chip and only work in the Ultra – they will not work in any other Vuse device.
If you are not sure which device you own, check the charging port: USB-C means Go Reload 1000 or Ultra, a magnetic charging cradle means ePod 2 or Pro, and a colour screen means Ultra.
Which Vuse pod fits which device
This is the table most people come here for. Read across from the device you own.
Why some cells say “check the pack”: we compared the compatibility notes published by several established UK retailers in August 2026 and they do not fully agree with one another on the cross-compatibility of the 1.9 ml and 2 ml pods. Rather than guess, we have flagged those combinations. The pod packaging itself lists compatible devices – trust that over any website, including this one.
One rule worth remembering: Ultra Smart Pods carry an electronic chip that talks to the Ultra device and sets the power automatically. That chip is why they are not interchangeable with the rest of the range. If you buy an Ultra, budget for Ultra pods specifically.
Pod specifications side by side
All figures below are for the UK market. UK law caps nicotine strength at 20 mg/ml and pod capacity at 2 ml, so you will never see the higher-strength pods sold in some other countries.
Puff counts are manufacturer estimates based on a short, consistent draw. Real-world figures are usually lower – a long or hard draw can easily halve them. Treat the numbers as a way of comparing pods against each other, not as a promise.
Choosing a nicotine strength
Picking a strength is the single most common thing people get wrong, and it goes wrong in both directions. Too low and you keep vaping constantly without feeling satisfied; too high and you get a harsh throat hit, or feel light-headed and queasy.
The rough guide below is based on how much someone was smoking before switching. It is a starting point, not a prescription – if in doubt, start one step lower and move up.
Nicotine salt e-liquid – which is what Vuse pods use – feels smoother in the throat than older freebase liquids at the same number on the label. That means 20 mg in a pod does not feel as harsh as 20 mg once did, but it still delivers the nicotine.
A note on stepping down
If your goal is to reduce rather than maintain, the ePod and Pro pods are the more useful range simply because they come in more strengths. You can move 18 to 12 to 6 to 3 to 0 mg without changing device. The Extra Intense and Ultra ranges only offer 10 mg and 20 mg, which makes a gradual taper harder. That is a genuine reason to choose a Pro over an Ultra, even though the Ultra is the more advanced device.
